fiddling in waite park

oh boy its been a tiring couple of weeks. I have to work in minnesota for my client for 2 months and then back to california. All this is moving and settling is getting on my nerves.
I tried to setup a wireless net at home but it only seemed to slow things down and my roomie who had got this cable connection was bitching me to revert to wired :( so we have to use the net on a time share basis now.

Well it is nice to see a new place but it is in this place that i realize it is not easy in the USA without a car :( this place does not have buses on Sundays :(

On the bright side i have a couple of friends from chennai in Minneapolis which is nearby.
Well workwise this is the business side so I am learning a little on how the clients business functions.
Me and my roomie from delhi are new to cooking so we are experimenting on the food. But on most days infact for the last 2 weeks we have been having only rice, yoghurt and a mixture of north indian dal and south indian sambhar.

Atleast while I am here i may learn to cook some stuff.

a week of new experiences

This has been an amazing week. I am writing this blog while experiencing my first hailstorm in Los Angeles. I went outside and felt the small ice particles hit me : it was a great feeling.

Apart from that on Tuesday I had gone to an Indian restaurant, on Wednesday I went to a Japanese restaurant ( I tried some sushi rolls & Teriyaki & some miso soup) , On thursday i went for a potluck lunch (apparently potluck means different people bring differentfood stuffs and we all share it, i took some ice cream as i didn't know to cook, but the food was excellent) and finally on Friday I went out to an Italian restaurant and had Lasagna ( i have always wanted to have it after seeing Joey eat it in Friends)..

& so i thought i had an eventful week but hey Mother nature surprises me by showing me a hailstorm in LA. In fact my neighbour commented that we are now in New York :).

& to top it all of I finally got my laptop :) :) :) it is the usual dell inspiron 6000.

Senthil can cook

Well i remembered that there was a show in American tv called Yan can cook, that is why i have named my blog as such.
I actually cooked "SAMBHAR" for the first time in my life. I followed my mom's recipe and it actually turned out good enough to eat. I did not use any sambhar powder or any ready made stuff. how is that for a cook huh.

A number of firsts happened this week, I also went to Walmart and that mall was HUGE. I went to Sears, Robinson Mays & other small shops apart from Walmart & all was just in one huge mall.

& what's up with this Ralphs stores i mean on the route from el segundo to LA i saw 4 ralphs stores & they are all huge. My god imagine the money the owners will be having.

So i am getting absorbed into the life of S/w techies in USA, lets see when i break out of it.
