Anniyan - a review
"ANNIYAN" - One of the most eagerly awaited movies in Kollywood.
Just returned from the movie and in a very few words i would say : AMMazingggg
The below blog will definitely contain some spoilers , so if you wanna watch the movie soon, don't read the rest of this , just go ASAP and see the movie.
Anewayz here is my 2 cents about the movie.
The movie has got some concepts of 4the People ( a malayalam movie) and also manichithrathazh/Chandramukhi.
And most important it's actually got properly made matrix effects. & i mean it was real.
If anyone scoffs at this attempt then i would say you are biased, as you wud have appreciated it in the english movie but if someone from India actually attempts it and if it comes good , then please do appreciate it.
There are some 3 fight scenes and they all have some really great effects.
The movie starts of with our hero Vikram (Ambi) and his friend Vivek (Chari) ( both are Brahmins in the movie) walking down a street singing bhajans. And the same scene also introduces the heroine Sadha (Nandini) ( she looks damn cute ). Well the first half an hour depicts the hero as a staunch brahmin following all the rules of the law, he is a lawyer. He is very mild mannered and he fights for justice in the Consumer court ( a la Thamizhan style the vijay movie )but all his cases are closed either for lack of evidence or because of money.
Then suddenly he discovers a web site in which people can submit their complaints and the accused will be killed by someone called Anniyan following the rules of Lord Yama. So our hero submits a few of his complaints, soon the accused turn up dead is some really weird ways , one guy is sucked to death by leeches, while one is boiled in oil etc). They show the undertaker like Vikram as Anniyan who kills these people.
In the middle of all this the mild hero Ambi proposes to Nandini, but she rejects him saying he is too righteous and that he should learn to live with the problems.
Soon another Vikram called Remo woos Nandini and she falls in love with Remo.
The Cop who is after Anniyan is Prakashraj and Chari is his assistant. there are a lot of good jokes from Chari, vivek has done a good job.
The matrix like stunts in one fight has been made beautifully. Infact if you remember Matrix 2 where Neo fights 100's of Agent Smith's, well you if u haven't seen it don't worry You can see a very similar fight in this movie.

Well after some really well choreographed fights and some of the most beautifully made songs, Nandini comes to know that Ambi , Anniyan and Remo are the same. But Ambi doesn't realize he is turning into 2 other people depending on his moods. He is suffering from Multiple Personality Syndrome ( a la manichithrathzh / chandramukhi )
Finally prakashraj catches Ambi and beats him up badly. This is the Best part of the movie. Vikram's acting in this part is beyond words. There is a sequence where he will change into anniyan and back to Ambi continuously. And whenever he is Anniyan he will beat Prakashraj and when he is Ambi he will plead for mercy.
This is the highlight of the movie ( for me).
Well the movie ends with ambi being cured of Remo but not of Anniyan though everyone else believes he is only Ambi now.

The ending part where Vikram changes continously , you gotto watch it to believe it !!
The story was kinda normal weakling fightin for justice, but the way it was made it was too good. Some people may not like the movie, while some like me will Love it.
