"the Big treat " a memory of the past
Damnnn i seem to be doing a monthly post only.. i shud try to post more .
Well there are some memories which i would like to kinda not forget forever, so i thought i could put them into my blog, hopefully this will remain for quite sometime.
One of those cherished memories is the treat given by Subbu ( Subramanian of MIT -Elex).
We were 4 ( Naresh, RJ, Subbu & myself). Rj had started this weird 500 Bucks only for a party trend and we even started calling it as C= 500 ( kinda like x + y + z + .. = 'C' ).
We were all forcing subbu to give his Birthday Treat, finally the stingy bum relented. We were deciding on the restaurant and naresh suggested "Bayleaf", according to him they served some realllly tasty food.
So the 4 of us went to this hotel in naresh's Car [a poor Santro dreading about Superman 3 ... (more about this later)], and saw the menu card. The first problem was they wouldn't accept Subbu's debit Card , so initially we were kinda reluctant. then me being the generous dude I am told the gang that we could use mine & subbu cud gimme the amount later.
So we sat down saw the menu Card & then were stunned a little as the prices were definitely NOT what we had expected. As we were following the C=500 rule we could order only 2 sidedishes for the Naans & rotis we had ordered.
Man did we go on a rampage when the waiter served our order.
The moment the side dishes were kept on the table, we stuck our spoons into it and took large helpings on to our plate.
In the end naresh was practically washing the few traces of the side dish curry left in the dish. & when the waiter came to clear our table i'm sure he wud have been stunned to find the dishes Cleeeannnn thanx to mr.Naresh.
All this was because of the C = 500. But we did have a good time at dinner ;-).
Finally the bill came to about 580 Bucks and i paid up.
Then we wanted to have some dessert so we managed to hoodwinkle mr. RJ for a treat as he had bought a new bike called " Bajaj WIND".
He was very very reluctant ( stingy fellow no. 2 ) , but finally we went to "Kulfi Korner" had some ice creams , and called it a day.
But one thing was Subbu paid up only 500 & he said that it was my mistake to have offered to pay for him.
To think that this guy is gonna be a future Manager , hope he doesn't cheat his business partners in the future .... ;-)
Moral of the story : the 4 of us knew we never wanted to go back to that hotel, but the memory of that day will always bring a smile on our faces.
