Super mechanic
On Tuesday March 1st, I heard this reallly bugging loud whirring noise from my PC.
After a li'il explorin i found that the noise was due to my SMPS.
So i decided that my SMPS was definitely in trouble & i switched off my PC. I was thinkin of calling up my PC service engineer on Saturdday as i wud be free only on that day.
But on friday sumthin in me wanted to dig deeper. So i left at 7 fom office & then finished off my dinner. Next I took out my screwdriver set & removed my SMPS.
I opened up my SMPS & cleaned all the dust that had settled, then i found that my SMPS fan was working fine , but it was a li'il loose along it's axis.
Also when it was testedt outside my PC there wasn't too much of a noise.
That's when I got this brilliant idea :-)... I cut off a small bit of soft cloth & kept it at the base of the SMPS & fixed it in my PC. Andddd voilaaaa the noise was gone...
So the irritant had been because of the Fan vibrations being transmitted to the Towers metal shelf... & this was stppped by a small piece of cloth.
yipppeeee it's been quite some time since i found a simple solution for my problems ;-)
